Potential new voting machines exhibited by Department of State

On Thursday afternoon five vendors that were invited by the Department of State to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex showed off and explained their voter-verifiable paper record voting systems.

Acting Secretary of State Robert Torres announced on April 12th that he is instructing the state's 67 counties to have new voter-verifiable, paper record voting systems selected no later than December 31, 2019, and he hopes to have them in place before the November 2019 municipal election.

Auditor General: Future state agency audits will include sexual harassment policies

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale hosted a press conference Wednesday morning in which he announced he has directed his staff, in the course of their audits, to review how well state agencies are following their sexual harassment policies.

DePasquale stated, “All of us must remain vigilant in our effort to prevent and stop sexual harassment in the workplace.” He noted that it does not matter where the workplace is, sexual harassment should be stopped everywhere.

Highlighting safety concerns, Sen. Argall pushes work zone speed cameras

Convinced it will make Pennsylvania work zones safer, Sen. David Argall (R-Schuylkill) is working on passing his bill, Senate Bill 172, that would authorize speed cameras in work zones.

Sen. Argall stated that, "People will learn to slow down," if the bill is enacted.

This bill will create a five-year trial period for PennDOT to place speed cameras in active work zones on limited access highways.
