As the governor's ten-day limit wraps up Monday night, legislators appear in full force today at the Capitol. 

House Majority Leader Dave Reed (R-Indiana) answers questions about how the revenue package is going and noted that there will be a meeting with the four caucus leaders and Gov. Wolf later Monday afternoon.

Health advocacy organizations call for higher tobacco taxes

Members of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the American Lung Association (ALA) held a press conference at the Capitol Friday morning. 

Pennsylvania government relations director (ACS CAN), Diane Phillips, led the press conference by discussing the members hopes of lawmakers protecting the people of the commonwealth's health by increasing the price of tobacco products. 

Phillips and others hope that the tobacco tax will be raised to at least $1.00 per pack of cigarettes in hopes of decreasing the number of users and providing needed state budget revenues.
