VIDEO: DePasquale, legislators disappointed in unnecessary money spent by state river basin commissions

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale was joined by legislators today in expressing concern over the findings from audits of the Susquehanna River and Delaware River basin commissions.

DePasquale shared that there were thousands of taxpayer dollars being spent on unnecessary items. Among them, there was $1,000 spent on alcohol for meetings, over $16,000 spent on food for meetings and over $14,000 spent on what he considered questionable costs associated with employee perks.

DePasquale reveals over $8.4 million was incorrectly reimbursed to school districts for transportation

On Wednesday afternoon, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale held a press conference to discuss his findings from an audit on Pennsylvania’s school district transportation reimbursements.

DePasquale explained that one third of the money spent by school districts for transportation is reimbursed by the state, while the remainder must be funded by local taxpayers. For this reason DePasquale stated it is critical that schools are receiving the correct amount of money, and he decided to audit schools regarding this money.

DePasquale releases recommendations and findings from school safety task force report

On Monday afternoon Auditor General Eugene DePasquale hosted a press conference where he discussed the recommendations in the Pennsylvania School Safety Task Force final report.
 

From April until June the task force held six regional round tables at schools where they listened to parents, students, school officials, law enforcement and others about their ideas on how to keep school safe and secure.

DePasquale report cites $581 million in potential recreational marijuana revenue, but that doesn't mean lawmakers are biting

Pennsylvania could be rolling in extra green if it was cool with selling green, according to the state’s fiscal watchdog.

A year after coming out in favor of legalizing it, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale released a special report that estimated the state could get an extra $581 million a year from regulating and taxing marijuana.
