Meet Rep. Dan Williams (D-Chester). From the church on Sunday as a pastor to the political arena, Williams stated that his job as a pastor is what led to him running for office. He said he hopes to make an impact that changes people's lives in a way he believes he wouldn't have been able to do if it wasn't for getting voted into the legislature.

As Wolf pushes for minimum wage increase, lawmakers hear from skeptics of the proposal

At least two researchers believe a proposal to raise the state’s minimum wage would ultimately damage the state’s economy, as a House committee launched a series of hearings on the matter Tuesday.

The House Labor and Industry Committee heard from two conservative economists and both underscored their belief that a provision in Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2025 would result in job losses.
