VIDEO: Helm calls for equal custody rights for parents

Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) is working on getting legislation passed that would call for at least 40-60 custody rights when parents are going through a divorce. 

Helm stated that all to often custody is extremely unequal and studies show a child does better when both parents are involved in their day to day activities.

DePasquale discusses nursing home audit update, calls for more action

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale joined Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine to discuss his findings from a special report that followed up on his 2016 audit of oversight of nursing homes by the Department of Health. 

DePasquale stated that there have been a number of improvements in the state, but there is still a lot that needs to be addressed, including the issue of nurse shortages, before there is a wave of baby boomers taking over nursing homes.

Child sexual abuse victim first case to sue under new circumstance allowing victims to file lawsuits outside of the statute of limitations

Another victim of child sexual abuse has come forward and is now suing the Harrisburg Roman Catholic Diocese. 

67-year-old Donald Asbee stated that he was repeatedly raped by two priests at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milton, PA, while he was an altar boy. He alleged that the Harrisburg Roman Catholic Diocese and its bishops covered up the sexual abuse crisis within the Catholic Church.
