House lawmakers put SRBC oversight in fall agenda’s crosshairs

Members of the House State Government Committee gathered in Harrisburg for the second straight Wednesday to further vet concepts outlined in hearings held earlier in the summer, this week focusing on a potential crackdown of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, which some lawmakers have said is acting outside of their granted authority and causing ratepayers and businesses headaches in trying to deal with an additional regulatory structure within the basin’s territory.

Game, Fish and Boat Commissions await authority to set own licensing fees

The two state commissions responsible for regulating and maintaining sportsmen’s activities, state game lands, and waterways in Pennsylvania—the Game Commission and the Fish and Boat Commission—are currently awaiting for the General Assembly to take the final steps toward allowing them to have permanent financial solvency by passing legislation to allow them to set their own licensing fees.
