Wolf cabinet officials express concern over House-GOP budget plan’s impact on education, veterans programs

Two Pennsylvania cabinet-level officials have expressed concern in recent days about how the budget bill crafted by the House Republicans and passed largely along a party-line vote last month will affect the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, and the Department of Education.

Governor nominates new Adjutant General

Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday he is nominating the current acting-Pennsylvania Adjutant General, Brig. Gen. Tony Carrelli, to take on the role in a permanent capacity.

The Adjutant General is the head of the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Gen. Carrelli has worked in the acting capacity since January when then-Adjutant General James Joseph took a leave of absence and then later resigned.
