The House State Government Committee held an informational meeting Wednesday to explore and question certain expenses made by the Office of Lieutenant Governor, and whether those expenses are a necessary or inappropriate use of taxpayer dollars.

Gov. Wolf revokes Lt. Gov. Stack’s state police detail

According to the governor’s office Friday, Gov. Tom Wolf has revoked the State Police coverage given to Lt. Gov. Michael Stack and his wife Tonya as a result of allegations of maltreatment of both his State Police protection and staff at The State House in Ft. Indiantown Gap that have led to an investigation by the Office of Inspector General into both his conduct and that of his wife.

 

In a statement offered Friday afternoon, Gov. Wolf’s press secretary JJ Abbott said the governor hand-delivered a letter to Lt. Gov. Stack informing him of the decision.

Scarnati and Stack team up once again to raise money for children's hospitals

Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-Jefferson) and Lt. Governor Mike Stack are set to host the eighth annual, three-day, 100-mile charity bike ride from Gettysburg to Annville  this weekend to raise money for three children’s hospitals in Pennsylvania. 

With donations for this year's event, the cause has raised over $1 million.

“Over the past eight years, through the generous contributions of many people, organizations and businesses we have raised more than $1,004,00 for the children’s hospitals,” said Sen. Scarnati. “I am very proud that this event has always been about supporting children and their families when they are faced with health challenges that impact their entire lives.
