Legislation seeks to provide patient-centered best practices in opioid addiction treatment

Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-Washington) announced Wednesday she has introduced legislation that would require addiction treatment centers to adopt patient-centered best practices as a means to treat opioid addiction.

 

The Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Treatment Act—now Senate Bill 428—requires the treatment centers, often sources of a singular source of treatment, to provide a panoply of treatment options to meet the specific needs of a consumer seeking their help.

Legislation authorizing ride-sharing companies inches closer to final passage

The House Consumer Affairs Committee moved a bill Wednesday that would authorize transportation network companies—like Uber and Lyft—to operate in Pennsylvania.

Senate Bill 984, introduced by Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-Washington), has been making its way through the General Assembly since last September and was recently the subject of several months of study and consideration by the House Consumer Affairs Committee, which has had the bill since last November after it passed the Senate 48 to 2.
