Debate to act now or build a case on capitol sexual harassment flares up on House floor

Testy floor debate Monday preceded the final passage of two House resolutions to study sexual harassment in the workplace.

The two resolutions, HR 828 and 829, will set up a task force to review harassment laws and also order the Joint State Government Commission to review harassment within the Capitol itself.

State representatives were torn Tuesday, at the House Judiciary Committee’s second public hearing on gun policy, over whether or not to support House Bill 1400, which would require background checks on all firearm purchases.
