Pittsburgh, Allegheny County continue cooperation on youth summer workforce program

As Pittsburgh Public Schools enter their second week of summer break, Pittsburgh City Council has moved along two bills to fund the city’s youth summer workforce program.

The two bills would allocate close to $1 million for the Learn and Earn Summer Youth Employment Program, a six-week intensive workforce engagement for teenagers and young adults in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

The first of the two bills grants an $700,000 agreement with Partner4Work, a nonprofit workforce development organization, for the shared operation of the Learn and Earn program alongside the city and county.
