PWSA customers to see rate increases over the next three years

In a special meeting Wednesday morning, the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority board voted to approve an Organizational and Compliance Plan, along with their 2018 capital and operating budgets which will include a 28 percent rate increase for its customers.

For the average residential water customer, that’s a $15 per month increase.

PWSA board approves appointment of new interim executive director

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority board approved the appointment of Robert Weimar as its interim executive director for one year.
Weimar, formerly the acting director of engineering for the authority, will earn up to $350,000 in the role.
Bernard Lindstrom, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, has served as interim executive director since September, and was poised to stay in that position for up to two years, via an announcement by Mayor Bill Peduto.
