Cannabis advocates seek clemency in legalization legislation

Pennsylvania Democrats have proposed myriad ways to legalize marijuana in the Keystone State. The most common avenue suggested is a market-based approach that empowers growers and dispensaries; others have advocated for its sale through the state-store system alongside liquor.

 

Regardless of how to best administer it, the criminal justice side of the marijuana discussion has not been lost as lawmakers grapple with what to do with criminal records plagued by past marijuana convictions.

VIDEO: Fetterman launches marijuana listening tour

The snow did not keep people away from the first stop on Lt. Gov. John Fetterman's listening tour Monday night. Hundreds lined up outside the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg waiting to get through security to talk about legalizing marijuana.


The majority seemed to be in favor of legalizing adult use cannabis, but people from both sides showed up to give their opinions.
