VIDEO: Rep. Kortz co-sponsors a bill that would result in lower fines and no loss of license for hunters' honest mistakes

Rep. Bill Kortz (D-Allegheny) joined The PLS Reporter to talk about House Bill 359. This bill states that if an honest hunter turns themselves into PGC and surrenders the animal they mistakenly took, they may not face a hunting license revocation and would just pay a small fine, although this only applies to first time offenders.

House committees examine proposal to require civics education graduation test

The House Education and House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committees held a joint hearing Monday morning to review House Bill 1858, legislation that would require Pennsylvania students to pass a civics education test as a prerequisite to high school graduation.

 

The test would be identical to the one immigrants take before becoming US citizens and students would have to pass the test with a score of 60 percent or higher.
