VIDEO: Bill to limit who firearms can be handed over to passes House Judiciary

On Tuesday morning the House Judiciary Committee met to consider a handful of firearm bills.

The committee started off the meeting with Rep. Marguerite Quinn's (R-Bucks) House Bill 2060, which would require an individual who is found guilty and sentenced before a judge to hand over their firearms to a law enforcement officer or a licensed dealer. This bill would also shorten the amount of time that firearms must be forfeited from the current deadline of 60 days to 48 hours for an individual convicted of the misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

Rep. Quinn spoke with The PLS Reporter after the meeting.

House Republicans set out to the high SEAS for budget savings

As the three-week stretch of budget hearings is starting to wind down, House Republicans on Wednesday unveiled an initiative that will allow them to hear from state employees instead of the agency heads that have been appearing before the appropriations committees since the end of February.

Dubbed “SEAS” for State Employees Achieving Savings, a cadre of House Republicans led by Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks) announced the creation of a web portal that will allow state employees to directly contact the House Appropriations Committee with cost-savings ideas they have developed while operating on the front lines of state government.
