With more votes on the way, House committee advances five gun bills in party defying tallies

Lawmakers approved five bills to tamp down on gun violence Tuesday morning, with votes on four more bills scheduled for Wednesday.

The House Judiciary Committee held its long anticipated vote on gun and mental health laws, prompted after half a year of school shootings, advocate rallies, and public hearings agitating for action.

Greenleaf's bill protecting child victims of human trafficking heads to House Floor

Sen. Stewart Greenleaf's (R-Montgomery) Safe Harbor bill passed out of the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday morning.

Sen. Greenleaf created the bill to protect the child victims of human trafficking from criminal prosecution. He was joined by his colleagues, survivors and advocates for a rally after the committee meeting to call for the House and Senate to pass this bill.
