Anti-hazing bill in honor of PSU’s Piazza passes judiciary committee

A bill in honor of Penn State University student Timothy Piazza, who died last year during a fraternity event that has raised allegations of hazing, passed the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.

The bill, SB 1090, was introduced by Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-Centre) last Friday. It would add more categories of hazing to state law, including a felony charge in cases of serious bodily harm or death.
