While new system set to save millions, Senators still question past of statewide emergency radio project

A group of Senators gathered Monday morning to resolve lingering questions on the cost and a possible audit of the state’s emergency response radio system.

The current project, P25, is just the latest iteration of an ongoing program since 1996 to connect every policeman, firefighter and other first responders across a unified communication grid.
