Wolf holds ceremonial signing for bills that encourage students to report sexual assault on college campuses

Gov. Tom Wolf held a press conference to discuss legislation that is being signed that would encourage more students to come forward and report sexual assault on college campuses.

The governor proposed two campus safety initiatives, one of which requires colleges to offer an online anonymous option for students to report sexual assault. The second initiative protects a student who comes forward to report sexual assault from getting in trouble for violating school drug, alcohol or other policies.

Baker looks to establish sexual assault online reporting system at Pa. universities

Sen. Lisa Baker (R-Luzerne) is one state lawmaker who hopes to protect victims of sexual assault and make it easier for them to report incidents on college campuses.
 
As part of Pennsylvania’s It’s On Us initiative to prevent sexual assault on college and university campuses, Baker has introduced a bill that would establish an online reporting system for instances of sexual harassment and assault on postsecondary institutions in Pennsylvania.
