Proposed Allegheny County budget calls for $25 million increase, holds the line on property taxes

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald presented his 2018 proposed budget to County Council Tuesday evening.

The $905.7 million budget represents a $25.4 million, or 2.8 percent increase over the last year, and also marks the sixth consecutive year that the plan is presented without the use of one-time revenue sources, said Fitzgerald. The proposal also will again hold the line on property taxes for the 16th time in the past 17 years.
